Dear Friends,

What are the first thoughts that come to your mind when I describe a man who will ride his bike to the base of each of Colorado’s 58 fourteeners and climb every one? Crazy? Strange? Passionate?

This is actually going to happen this August! The man’s name is Mason Gravley (www.youraliveadventure.com). Why is he doing it? For several reasons: He loves riding and being outdoors; he wants to draw attention to the importance of mental health in Colorado (he has dealt with depression in the past); and in doing so, he hopes to raise funds for a great mental health center in Colorado—specifically SCA.

Amazing! This Christian brother hopes to start August 1st, and depending on weather and other factors, he plans to finish in early September. He is already drawing some media attention; you can watch his story on the Channel 7 website. If you would like to follow his journey, he will use Instagram (Alive Adventures) and Facebook (Alive Adventures/Mason Gravley) to post his progress. You can track him using The SPOT app, and you can also link to him via our website (www.southwestcounseling.org).

We are excited to see how God will use this brother’s passion.

How can you help? Here are some ideas:

  • Pray for Mason's safety and for cooperative weather. Pray for great media coverage that will make SCA's services more widely known.
  • Pray that God will raise up funds for the ministry of SCA. As part of this effort, you can give directly from our website, or you can make checks out to SCA and put “Mason” in the memo line. We are praying for God to raise up $20,000 in this effort.
  • Get the word out: Let others know so that more people can follow along, participate in the adventure and learn more about SCA at the same time.
  • Join us: We are planning an event for late September where Mason will talk about his adventure and show photos. We will promote SCA at that time as well. You will find more information about this event on our website as it unfolds.

Thank you for your support and interest. God bless you!

Gratefully,
