We are now SouthWest Counseling (SWC), an informal affiliation of former Southwest Counseling Associates staff members, now in private practice. As the result of an executive board decision, Southwest Counseling Associates (SCA) dissolved on November 30, 2021. To preserve the mission, standards and culture of SCA, therapists listed on this site continue to work together in supporting each other and serving our community. DETAILS

Julia Al-Sager

MA, Licensed Professional Counselor

Julia Al-Sager is a licensed professional counselor in the state of Colorado. She graduated from City University in Bellevue, Washington, with a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology. She has spent many years in the counseling profession and arrives at SCA with diverse, multicultural experience.

Julia began her counseling career as a school counselor for all grades (preschool through ninth grade) at a bilingual school in the Middle East when she lived there many years ago with her family. Later, Julia worked in multiple mental health settings including a private counseling center as well as various local agencies that serve youth, families and senior citizens. As a result, Julia is comfortable with people from all walks of life.

Julia has trained to work with individuals and families, using a wide variety of evidence-based approaches including EMDR and Family Functional Therapy. She is also currently pursuing training to become a Licensed Addictions Counselor in the state of Colorado.

Julia is able to work with youths and adults with trauma histories, depression, anxiety, conflicted relationships and a variety of other mental health issues. Julia feels strongly that by providing a compassionate and collaborative approach in her work with a client, a brighter, healthier future is possible for anyone ready to start that journey.
